Crack the acne problem

Acne is one of your skin’s worst enemies. While we may try dozens of anti-acne creams to treat pimples topically, there’s no better solution than getting to the root of the problem. And what better way to do that than to eat right? Here’s what you need in your diet to help keep the dreaded pimple at bay.

Vitamin A
This prevents the overproduction of cells in the skin. Consequently, there are fewer dead cells clogging up your pores.
What to eat: Carrots, broccoli and spinach are the best sources of Vitamin A, but if you want to try something new, there’s also alfalfa sprouts, beetroot, red grapes, acai, sweet potatoes and cantaloupe.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant , so it helps get rid of those pesky free radicals. Vitamin E also helps in skin renewal.
What to eat: While alfalfa sprouts, beetroot and broccoli are a good way to get this vitamin as well, getting Vitamin E is also a great excuse to try pine nuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and avocado.

Zinc
Zinc reduces the amount of oil produced by the skin, thus preventing the formation of pimples. It also helps with cell renewal.
What to eat: Eggs (especially the yolk), pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, peanuts, almonds, Brazil Nuts.

Vitamin B Complex
These not only decrease oil production in the skin, but also reduce the size of your pores.
What to eat: Alfalfa sprouts, broccoli.

Selenium
Selenium prevents the inflammation of acne. It also magnifies the antioxidant properties of Vitamin E in neutralizing free radicals in the body.
What to eat: Whole grains such as quinoa and brown rice, onions, garlic, nuts, eggs and cottage cheese.
